did you catch how to lift the wiper blades without chipping duco on the bonnet? - I missed that one and chipped the paint, that was 4 years ago and still kicking myself.

tip - turn ignition key to 'off' then flip the wiper lever (from 'auto' or where ever) to 'on' and the wiper blades shift to vertical so they can be lifted away from windscreen without chipping paint on bonnet.

Enjoy the van, I take delivery of my 2014 T5 4motion in May. (anyone looking for a 2010 T5 132 TDI 7sp auto multivan highline with 2 paint chips?)

Nice van Cristian, wow, 2 week delivery.....I ordered mine in November, still coming.....factory built though - and I think the ship it's on is out searching for the Malaysian plane...

Ours is a TDI400, 4 motion - should be here just after easter.... also opted for stock wheels planning on an after market replacement....

I am sold on the X5 wheel solution - I like the X5 wheels, and I have seen the link you have posted elsewhere for the adaption kit in the UK:

However looking through the compatible vehicles on this site it does not show multivans....is this just an oversight or are the multivans different to the T5 and Caravelle??? I am hoping oversight?

Also - are there limitations to the dia and width you can put on the van's? I will probably go 19", but some of the 20" are nice too. I figure the dia is not a big deal as the higher you go the thinner the tyre so same dia overall, but what about width? Is there a limit that will work?

Has anyone got one of these "new" van tuned?, if so who did you go with, how much did it cost and what does it feel like in the real world?
I'm more looking at a good boost to torque and improved economy than turning it into a racing van.
    Thanks for your help guys.

Just an oversight .... don't believe the Multivans are called Multivans in the UK. Anyway will fit all T5s.

    Thanks Sharkie,
I had looked at Oettingers website, but the Australian distributors are a little quiet on the email front.
Most of the tunes seem to be $1k to $1.5k because of the anti tune ECUs.
I will have to hold off a while before seriously checking this out.

Yeh 2 weeks was lucky, cause we modified our original request and the dealer had one already on its way to their yard and unallocated.

A 400 4 motion would have been my choice, but a lack of fun tickets puts an end to that.
Good luck with your delivery, hopefully it will get here soon.

I thought this was only cars?
When I washed our van on the weekend, I could fold out the wipers conventionally with no problems. Didn't have to put them into maintenance position at all.

I know I am an oldie but my only comment on "big " diameter wheels is once you get past 18inch the lo profile tyres are so small {Elastic Bands}that they transmit every singe lump on the road back through the van . I tried a set of 18's on lo profile tyres and they only lasted a few months as I got sick of the pounding the van was taking plus the uncomfortable ride characteristics . In my line of business the biggest number of complaints I get about rattles is from cars that are running on elastic bands . My opinion only .

And a valid comment Sunny...food for thought....

I have 19's on a commodore sportswagon with no ride issues, but I had not considered that the van's might not have the same capacity to handle them....I'll have a think about that. Maybe I should limit myself to 18 tops.

    Much appreciated.
