I did my driver's side mirror on a Bunnings pole last year!
Looked at all the options and found it was easiest/cheapest to source one from the wreckers.
I always warn people to be careful of our car's mirrors - if you're not used to van driving you don't realise how much they stick out. Anyway, a relative smashed the LHS side mirror. Any recommendations on where to get a replacement? I'm assuming I can replace the glass myself. Thanks

The new glass is expensive from VW as I have replaced two on my van [don,t ask how ] in one case I ripped the whole housing clean off the door . Now the folding part was broken and that part was hellish to buy so I just remounted it back on with 3 screws directly onto the original mount point . You cannot tell that it is remounted like that except for the fact it no longer folds , the mirror clips on but its a little heart stopping as it has a knuckle style socket fitting and you need to snap it back on . Have a look on ebay here vw T5 side mirror | eBay quite reasonable pricing compared to AU VW prices .
I have looked into that as I need to replace just the glass for roadworthy. It isnt smashed out , just cracked , housing is fine .I found that Just Kampers have OEM and gen parts , I find most on there are what I need for rwc repairs and reasonably priced and can get delivered from Sydney rather than risk ebay from overseas if they are wrong from re sellers .I have noticed they stick out a lot even though I have driven trucks and vans i still gotta watch the fence lol
Thanks heaps all. Great leads.
I did buy a mirror off ebay that was a T5 mirror except its flat, not aspherical, and doesn't fit. (If anyone needs one let me know). Have ordered a different one more carefully and hopefully all will be well.
