New key cut in cairns for 2011 T5

Does anyone know of a company which can cut and program a new key and program a key which has lost its programming in the cairns area!? I have called around and seems no one can do it? Volkswagen want about $450!!! Thanks in advance!!!

I could only suggest you check with a few local companies to see if they can help , I take it you don,t have a spare ? . We had a similar issue with my sons T4 but a trip to the local MR Minit shop and it was recoded in twenty seconds . He copied the code from one key and then transferred it to the new key . He didn,t even want to charge me but I gave him $20

What do you mean lost it's programming? Does it no longer start the car?

With the VW option, it'll 1) be the correct key and remote FOB, and 2) it'll actually work. The key is sourced pre-cut from your VIN, and the programming is done via Germany. It's not a case of reading a chip with a 3rd party machine, and attempting to copy it onto another.

Aftermarket alternatives can be hit-and-miss, and vendors tend not to take responsibility if it won't program, or is not the correct frequency for this country.

If it's just a case of the remote not unlocking the car, try a new battery (CR2032), and if that doesn't work, you may be able to just replace the remote part of the key fob, as opposed to the whole thing.
