    Must say that I'm mighty tempted by the new T5 dual cab range......top spec 132kw motor with the only choices being 4MOTION or DSG. All for under fifty grand retail.

    Though.....how many think that three grand extra for a trick gearbox is good value? One could ask the same question about 4MOTION for an extra $3,500....but I'm a bit biased!!

    I'd be surprised. As Greg says the TDI V6 is built for longitudinal orientation, while the previous petrol V6, and all 'east-west' V6's (that I can think of) in VW's, are the narrow angle (15 degree) VR type motors. I don't think they've ever made a 15 degree diesel. If they ramp the bi-turbo 2L up to something like 150Kw/500nM, that would still be pretty interesting.

    And Seano, at Bayford Preston they told me (and the price list reflects this) that in the dual cab, you can have DSG, or 4Motion, but not both. Why they would do this when you can have both in a van, I have no idea. $3k for a highly efficient, cutting edge, heavy duty DSG seems reasonable (i'd imagine a normal auto on most vans would be around $2k). And $3.5k for 4Motion is a snip compared to the premium of the first T3 Syncro's (about $15k iirc), although they did have a few more things done to them.

    From Car Advice: If you scroll to near the bottom, the 3 red links (for Transporter, Caravelle and Multivan) within the Caradvice page open pdf's of VW official specs as handed out during press/dealer days.

    It would seem there is NO Crewvan and according to specs you can't option rear 3 seater in a Transporter ...
