    MY11 2.0 TDI 132kw superchip thoughts

Thinking of getting our MY11 2.0 4cylinder TDI 132kw twin turbo super chipped. Really want to minimise that annoying low down lag and would love a little more umph hahaha Don't we all

Wondering if anyone has had their 132kw twin turbo suprer chipped and what their thoughts are?

    Here's the details.

    We do alot of Multivan 2.0TDIs as they respond so well to being Superchipped. You will get alot better throttle response, low down and midrange torque and the car will pull all the way to the red line. Many owners report anything up to 10% saving on fuel as well, due to the fact there is less gear changing. And the annoying lag that they have at low revs also disappears. With the 178PS Multivan the gains are as follows;
Volkswagen Transporter 2.0 BiTDI CR (180PS)
    9/2009 onwards
    Engine type : Turbo-Diesel
    Engine size : 1968 cm3
    Cylinders : 4
    Original bhp : 178 (132kW)
    Original nm : 400
    BHP increase : 31 (24kW)
    NM gain : 88
Speed Limit Removal : Not Available
MY11 Multivan 132kW 4Motion, Natural Grey, Fog lights, Multifunctional Steering Wheel.

How long do you want to keep your van afterwards?

Transporter, are you suggesting this reduces the life span of the van?

We've had the van since new, were planning on keeping it for a long time.

I am thinking of getting the APR DSG tuning done to my van. Not interested in the power tuning....just the DSG tune.

It's okay, I didn't expect that many would take me seriously. But, I always give the information when people ask me if the tune has any negative impact on the vehicle, not just engine. You can forget about the increased thermal and mechanical load from the increased power. Any T5 with diesel engine from 7/2006 has the DPF, and I don't know any performance increasing ECU remap which wouldn't reduce the DPF life. The more you enjoy that extra power, the sooner the DPF will clog up.
Of course you can shrug it of like many of us do, and say, "so what, I enjoy how the vehicle drives after the remap and I'm ready to pay for the increased maintenance and repair costs."

When you say the DPF will clog up with the extra oomph shouldn't the regen still work or does the regen system have a shelf life or does it mean it will regen more often . Only curious .

Simply speaking; No regeneration is 100%, so there is always some ash that stays in the DPF and cannot be burned off. More often the DPF has to regenerate, the sooner it will reach the end of life (fills up).

We have several long term 2.0 TDI Bi-turbo transporters (4 years with Oettinger Software) and all still running strong on original DPF's. 4 years & counting.

I think the worse case for DPF problems is the way the vehicles are driven (NOT Tuning) ie: short trips kill them, highway driven cars seem to get way better life out of the DPF's and associated parts (EGR too)
