Below are the photos of my T4 that I put on Carsales.com.au in June but got no bites. It is now sitting at VW Commercial Centre in Kewdale with a price of what they paid me plus GST on the windscreen. This is a good price with no profit for the dealer so it is a wonder that no one wants it.
It is a 2004 2.5 TDI manual Transporter with VanQuip seats, rubber floor mats and plywood floor. It was the family car until I traded it on the T5 Multivan Comfortline Auto and has done 108,000km.
It had a new turbo under warranty at 96,000km (very lucky) and has a brand new rear door and front panels after the tailgate was hit by a truck while parked and it just tapped the cars parked in front. Everything was replaced with new parts at a cost of over $11,000 to the truck's insurance company. It is interesting that the body of the car around the tailgate was not even touched in the crash, although the tailgate was not very recognisable.
I sold it because I fell in love with the T5, not because of the crash. It is in beautiful condition with so many new parts it is almost a brand new car.
Just goes to show how well these VW vans are built
The Asian competitors would have crumpled at the rear most likely.
Bob do you have pics of the T4 after the accident ?
I'm sure as van lovers would love a gawk at the damage.
