    Multivan External Temp Guage

Where is the external temp gauge located? Mine got up to 42 the other day How accurate is yours? I think mine is within a degree or 2 of actual.

I think they are reasonably accurate when in good order. If I understand it correctly the temp guage basically reads the resistance between two points and correlates that with a temperature.

The one in the VR6 seems to be about right, the one in the missus Subaru seems about right too, although 1 or two up or down on each can mean differences of 4degrees between cars.

Reality is it works well enough that when it says 10C it's cold and when it says 45C you should stay in the air con

My T5 shows reasonable correct while moving with air flow past the car, but if it is left parked and the whole car heats up then it takes a while to get back to normal once moving. So whereever it is, it's affected by the temperature of the metal of the car, possibly the bonnet.

After Ivo's post I started looking around and found something between the overhead console and the windscreen, small cirlcular disc on the inside top edge with wire leading back into roof?....saw 50deg on Punt Rd Richmond for 30 secs , at least the air-con works.

And for fear of taking this thread offline a little, I also noticed today that when the second cooling fan kicks in, it is nowhere near as obtrusive as that in my old T4, which would effect revs a little and roar like a jet on take off.
