    Multivan Electric Door Problem.

    Hi folks,

One of the electric doors has a fault that I have not been able to diagnose and I'm hoping that you may be able to help me out:
The door will open normally until nearly half way open. It than stops moving whilst the motor tries to keep opening it for a second or two, then stops. The door is only movable from there (to open or shut it) with much force. I've checked the cables and they appear to be ok, leaving me stuck without knowing what to do. It is as if the door gets stuck on something but I can't seen anything in/on any of the runners that might be doing this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Andy

Pop the cover off over the centre track, and have a look at what's going on in there.

Bare in mind that you'll probably break most of the clips that hold it onto the body, but don't stress as there's a screw at each end.

Thanks, but I have done that. It is what I meant when I said that the cables appear to be ok ie the stainless cables that push/pull the door, rather than the electric cables

Just a thought - if you could disconnect the bowden cable from the motor unit and try pulling / pushing to try and determine if the
problem is in the motor unit, i.e. broken gear or similar, or after the motor.

Thanks Syncrotek. I did that yesterday and have identified the problem - a roller on the bottom runner has come off causing the door to drop on to the body work. That doesn't look too hard to fix - remove a small panel at the rear of the runner channel by the looks - but I also have to replace the cables that open and close the other door.
Can anyone direct me to instructions on how to do this please?

    Thanks,

    Andy.
