At the risk of going off topic, what sort of sliding window did you end up getting fitted?
And why did you do that if you were happy with your insect screen solution on the front windows?
Yes, because of the plastic mirror surround there is no metal for the magnets to stick to in this area. I found though, with the correct tension, the fly screen would sit flat in this area and keep out any unwanted pests.Looking at your picture for the T4 version, I see that the short edge has no magnetic tape, so assume that runs into plastic there?
I would put one on and take a photo but I now have full weather shields fastened to the front doors. Ventilation is now by way of a screened sliding window and a roof vent.

The sliding window was already in the van when I bought it. Because it's used mainly for camping and touring, security was an important factor so I looked at other alternatives. Ended up screening the slider with amplimesh and installing a roof vent with a small 12v fan in it.At the risk of going off topic, what sort of sliding window did you end up getting fitted?

Thanks for that.

I never was much of a handyman and I was not very happy with the quality of my attempt at making one myself.
Being a business expense I purchased from Top Gear 2 Go a Drivers and Passengers door window version. I got the internal fitting version for both just in case I wanted to put visors on the windows, and as they are just that little bit harder to steal.
Quality looks good and the fitting instructions were ok.
I did have one problem...although that could be just me being me...with positioning the adhesive strip along the bottom on the sill. I found it ambiguous how to fit the shape at the bottom at the bottom back corner...and as a result didn't put the adhesive in the right position first attempt. There was no photo of this area in the instructions which would have helped. And in my defence, while both Australia Post tubes were marked left and tight...unfortunately they had put the wrong one in the wrong tube...which took me a while to work out.
I have also purchased one of those ebay sliding door insect screens. Some notes about that are posted here;
