The Volkswagen California is not the only Camper Van based on the T5 model, there are in Europe about 20 other companies who have their own view on this unique type of car.

Thanks for the link, there are many independant companies still operating in Australia as well, but the price is usually much higher than the
kombi beach sold for here, but even then the beach didn't sell well.

One problem here is that like US, people are buying massive unweildy motor homes which has made the smaller sensible campervan style less popular.

That is right, Brian, the same situation is here in Europe, that is why Volkswagen "only" builds not more than 5.000 California's last year. But the advantage is that driving a VW California is driving with an exclusive car!
