Intake manifold and egr valve clean and gaskets, then provent

Hi knowledgeable VW folks, (also sorry if this has been covered - I may be crap at searching the forum)

I have a 2009 2.5 T5 4motion and have been considering a crankcase breather filter/catchcan - probably a provent. However I have done over 200,000km so everything will already be full of carbon deposits etc..

So I was thinking of giving the intake manifold a clean first, before installing the provent. May as well clean the egr valve as well given its location.

Brings me to my question - are there gaskets on the egr? I can't find them as parts for sale. I just dont want to pull intake hose apart without the necessary parts to put it back together.

Any advice on the cleaning is welcomed too

    Cheers

did my intake round 130K, now near 170K. Probably could have got by without doing it, as it wasn't too bad.Except near the EGR.
The EGR itself was very gunked up.
Check (if you live in usa): WeeklyAd2, or Aldi Catalogue.

What have you done to your VWCV today??

You do need to remove the front to remove the manifold.Plan on a day or so, time wise. As i said, probably not really necessary to do the manifold itself

How to remove Intake Manifold 2.5 174 AXE - The Brick-yard

i don't recall needing any parts at all
