Looks great mate. Car to share any pictures of the back end of the set up? How did you fix it to that metal beam behind the grill?

Is it just a power lead to battery direct and a relay from one of the head light bulbs?

I took that grill out using some trim tools I purchased at Sunny's suggestion and figured I'd only get a 22" bar in there.

I saw you the other day in the work wagon Sunny, your bar looks good too. Nice, clean almost stock appearance.

Looks great Tony. I’m sure you’ll be rapt with the difference it makes.
Hey Sunny, I know this is getting off thread topic, but what upgrades have u done to your sound system? I’m really wanting to add a sub & some rear speakers. Not sure how difficult a task it might be.

It's a 28" bar and they're 3W LEDs. I love it. The bugs are a never ending story and the van is in quite a state at the moment I'm a bit ashamed but my usual auto car wash has been out of order for a number of weeks now. I'm a few weeks away from a service when it will get a nice wash and vacuum.

I assume they have used a relay, I supplied a harness with a relay and switch with the bar but they ended up using their own stuff as I got the harness back.

I'll see if I can get some pictures, they initially just mounted it directly onto whatever is available behind the plastic but I took it back and asked them to lift it half an inch as the bottom outside corners were sitting behind the grille. They pulled the front bar off and I assume put some spacers in there. It's great it doesn't shake or vibrate at all.

After the roo strike I finally got the light bar fitted again and they have put it in behind the grille. It looks tidy in there but I'm unsure as to whether it's adjusted a bit high or I'm losing low level light throw due to the horizontal bar of the grille that it's sitting behind.

It would probably be easy for me to remove the section of grille with a pair of side cutters, should I try this before attempting to adjust the aim of the bar?

Before is on top and after is below (click for larger image).

I just wanted to add to this thread as I have just installed a LED light bar on my 2007 VW T5.

Installing a light bar or driving lights-img_4792-jpg

I initially ordered the “Adventure Kings Domin8r 32" LED Light Bar”. Once this arrived I realised that the 32” LED light bar was just a little too big for my grille. I thought that it was a bit much for me. I could see a 32” slimline LED light bar fitting a T6.

I then ordered the “Kings 20" Slim Line LED Light Bar” for $79 delivered to Sydney during one of their sales. Even this didn’t fit perfectly inside the width of my front grille. You can see in the photos that I have cut out part of the front grille to get it to fit.

I can also highly recommend the wiring harness that 4wdSupaCentre sell. This made wiring it all super easy. The light bar only comes on when I have my high beams on AND the switch in my dash turned on as well. So if I'm just driving round the city I can have the normal high beams without the light bar turning on.

Ideally I would have liked to have mounted the light bar to something really solid. I have just put a bolt through the plastic of the front grille and reinforced this with washers. The slim line light bar is very light and it is very solidly mounted. I’m not worried at all about it at the moment.

I’ve posted a pic of the difference between the standard high beams and the LED light bar. As everyone else says the photos simply don’t do it justice. It also casts a lot of light out to the sides which should help in spotting wildlife.

Not sure about adding images on the forum, but I have uploaded my pics to Imgur.com as well.

All in all, I’m very happy with the result.

Has anyone fitted a LED light bar to a 2018 Tiguan? If so what is the best way to connect to the highbean feed to a relay?

I went the other way with install using rear brackets so nothing shows at the sides , those Cree bars have come along way from when we first fitted ours . Now you can get them in a combo style with flood lighting and spot all in one . If you lok back on this post here Vw t5 brighter headlight options!! you can see the difference between stock lights and the Cree bar .

I fitted driving lights but the same applies, use a Canbus interface from CanM8 YouTube

Available in Oz from this mob CANM8 Cannect Highbeam

There maybe others but this is the one I used. I put an isolation switch on the console at the front of the left row on the passenger's side.
