Red face How to remotely lower the windows in a T5: A new discovery for me.

I happened on a method to remotely open windows on my MY12 T5. This was totally new to me so perhaps I am a dummy. I have not seen it in a manual.

For those who do not know how to do it: With the car locked, momentarily press the "open" button on the Remote, release it, press the "open" button again and hold it for a second or so. This should open all electrically operated windows. (I am still working out how to remotely open the manually operated windows in the rear.)

this handy function is available on all models..... hold down the unlock button and all electric windows will open till you let go of the button (some models will open the sunroof also)... hold down the lock button and all electric windows will close and some will do the sunroof also.
I find it useful if i have left the sunroof open and walk away from the car. can close it remotely.

I had to show this feature to my mate who has aT5 he did not know it could be done , I never have to worry about the sunroof thing as our sunroof has auto close when the car is turned off , its an aftermarket Webasto - Hollandia one .

Same for me our older T5 2004 doesn't have it although I believe if you have a VAG COM you maybe able to activate the function in the BCM its only the later post 2010 models that it seems to be standard on . Someone else may have more info .

For those with light and sight package (auto lights and wipers) on 2010+ T5s, you can program via VCDS to close any open power windows (and sunroof) automatically when it rains ....

very handy if you leave them a bit open for air circulation and an unexpected shower comes along
