Hissing / suction / vacuum sound inside cabin on accelerating T4 V6 Caravelle

Hi All,

I have a mysterious hissing/suction sound coming from inside when accelerating in my T4 V6 Caravelle. It seems to be related to the Climate control because when it happens, the air flow cuts out.

It only ever happens on acceleration and it does not matter how small or big the acceleration is, it will do it.

Its a real issue in hot weather because the air-con feels like it has cut out.

The sound is definitely from inside the cabin and sounds like a vacuum leak.

Has anyone any ideas what it could be related to?

Hi there I know exactly what that is! On my previous Caravelle (with climate control) I had extactly the same thing. It will be a perforated vaccumm 'canister control' that directs the flow of vent air under the dash (I think under up behind the glove box). I recall going to the wreckers and found the exact same part off a PUG 505!

I recall writing this up some years ago, so might be still on a previous post. I will see if I can locate it.
