It's a little bit confusing, what measure systems are you usually refering the most downunder ?
I already know that your are RHD
Most do fuel mileage via the old system as thats what some grew up with others use the litre per 100km method

Also some users are from the UK where they mostly use the MPG method

Thanks Ben for this information, I understand better.
I assume that the MPG you use are the UK-Imperial and not the US ones ?

I'm a ripe old age of 44, and i typically quote in metric i.e. L/100kms. i was fortunate enough that the metric system was being pushed as I was going through my early years at school. however, I have no problems in readily converting metric to imperial. what I do find amusing is how in oz, we tend to use both systems, for example, we'll use metric for consumption, yet inflate our tyres in psi.

Zanda, ive got a 5.4L quad cam V8 in my other car, (375KW/503hp) and my fuel consumption averages 19L/100kms (15mpg). however, put yr foot down and its instantaneous can jump to 99.9L/100kms (2.8mpg)

What are your fuel prices like and could you afford that sort of consumption?

(we are currently averaging around AUD1.50/L)

Currently in Switzerland, the gasoline price is 1.94 AUD/l and the Diesel price is 2.14 AUD/l (gasoline is cheaper than diesel here, as opposite to the vast majority of european countries - mainly because we don't like pollution here )

I can afford it because I don't drive a lot, using the train for commuting to work and bicycle for small trajets in town

You can see my actual fuel usage in my signature... It's from a website where you can track and follow your fuel usage, really nicely done (in english and german)

Great info. I think you are using more fuel than my 2.0L petrol.

I noticed a big difference between winter tyres & sumer tyres.

It's probably because I have one cylinder more, more torque, more final speed and probably a heavier foot too
