    Height of Jacking points

    Hey All,

I've ordered the 3200GVM LWB Special Order and with these models you don't get a spare or jack, just a can of tire repair.

So I'm getting a Spare Tire to fit once its arrived, and i also need to get a Bottle Jack, so I'm not relying on a repair spray can out while I'm campervaning

What height do you guys have on a standard model from ground to jack loading point...

So i can work out what bottle jack height that will work.

(I should note, that a standard VW transporter scissor jack for some reason isn't meant to be used on the T32 / 3200 GVM models... i don't know why, its just seems to be highlighted on the VW OEM scissor jacks)

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Cheers.

Just did a quick measure to the outside of the sill panel and mine comes in at 300mm front and rear.

I would buy a bottle jack with the adjustable centre , I bought a cheapie from Super Cheap when I did our front suspension and some other jobs worked a treat , check the weight limit before to ensure safe operation .

    Thanks guys, that measurement helps.

I was looking at an adjustable centre, its handy for fine adjustment.

my 04 with 235/55x17" is around 240mm front and 270mm rear, clearance to jack points
min jack height to get the jack under the vehicle is roughly clearance minus tyre sidewall
min jack height to lift tyre off the ground around 340mm front, 350mm rear

    Thanks,

I'm looking at a Kincrome 8 ton model, min is 238mm and a max of 478mm

Im looking at the Seikel Maxi lift so that'll add 30mm to those measurements.

You can get a Seikel bottle jack, it lifts to 700mm..... i wouldn't personally trust a bottle jack at that height... nor could i justify the cost of the Seikel Bottle jack... its crazy money in euros, hate to see what its costing here.

so , that jack may not fit under your vehicle with a flat tyre.
With mine the tyre sidewall is around 100mm, so flat clearance is theoretically around 140mm or slightly better, haven't actually measured it flat.

Maybe keep or get an original VW scissor jack to get the van up high enough for the bottle jack to take over ,cheap enough at a wreckers .

    Hi Bryn23

How did you know you could order the uprated GMV, I couldn't find the option in the current spec sheet VWCTRANBROMY16.5?
