Has anyone fitted gas to thier diesel T5

I've been looking at fitting gas to my diesel T5. The claims are very appealing but i worry about doing damage etc.

So if anyone has had it fited i would love to hear about their experiences.

T5 Double off road. Sorry to see that you haven't had any reply's as I was looking out to read a few, I had my computer Flashed with a German Program years ago -it's been OK a very noticeable improvement - maybe a chip would be cheaper but watch-out for proven quality!

I'd go with the reflash every time. Plenty of gains gti be had. Reversable, non intrusive, and doesn't hamper normal servicing and maintenance like regular Lpg kits often do.

Lpg is expected to jump in price massively in the not too distant future.

I'm surprised that no one has actually done it. I have spoken to several guys who have fitted it to landcruisers and were very impressed with the results. They say that the fuel efficiency is very minimal by the time u pay for gas but the power increase is excellent. Especially down low.

I contemplated doing it......but it was very pricey when I was looking at it. From memory, it was $5k-$6k for the conversion.
I would need to do a lot of miles to recoup that money.

yeah expected efficiiancy gains are only in the 10% region if lucky.

But power wise its brilliant. Ive seen personally gains of 40% power and thats within acceptable exhaust temp levels.

Could get more but thats when the long term damage can occur.

The gains you've seen, were they on VW? were they on new or older vehicles, as i've read that the newer TDI dont get as much improvement. I'd hate to go to the expense and find only slight improvement in power.

The gains wouldn't be worth to me. The R5 engine is very expensive to repair, especially here in Australia. So tread carefully.
