    H&R Sway Bar Arrived

Ive received a set of H&R Sway Bars 26mm front 30mm Rear. Front has two positions to adjust obviously further inboard = stiffer but not necessarily better handling. The number of factors that can affect handling such as tyre selection, tyre pressure and load leave me guessing as to what I actually should be looking for when testing. I would say I emphasise handling over comfort. I may upgrade wheels to 18"-20" in the near future as new set of tyres are less than 10K away. I guess ill start with the most outboard setting but would appreciate any feedback.

Heres my setup - T5 2.5 TDi 128/400 Standard Michelin Agilis 215/60/16 usually run in the low 50's psi, Bistein B14 coilers lowered 40mm. Generally not heavily loaded.

    cheers

    Michael

makes no sense does it. You'd think it has to be symetrical.

I suppose it is just about rigidity not symmetry.

Had them fitted today but went for lightest setting up front. I could find very little info on the web about the T5/B14/H&R combo - nothing in fact so here is my first impressions.

The B14's made a massive difference to grip, poise at speed and some reduction in roll. The harder you pushed the van the better it felt - I don't know the reason why. I found the ride actually better than it was previously but I think my rear shocks were completely stuffed. The addition of the H&R's has basically reduced body roll to zero and I could only describe he steering as very neutral - much less steering input through corners - again Im not trying to be technical as I don't have the expertise. The initial turn in is very precise I feel it is much more responsive to input. It has stiffened the body giving me less 'scuttle' over congregations but certainly notice them more. All in all Im very happy with the handling and I feel it is a more comfortable ride overall - not the experience I was expecting from what I had read but keeping in mind the standard 215/60/16 Michellin's.

    Cheers
