Question for anyone that has recently had the recall/software for the DPF done....... Has your fuel economy changed?
Mine has worsened. On long runs on a motorway, it seems the same. Driving around town, it is now 1.5l/100km worse.

Do you mean DIY, or non-VW dealerships, even though they are VW accredited service agents?

    MY09 Caravelle, 96kW, 2 year, 30,000km service (but has only done 17,000kms).
Oil, oil filter, pollen filter, brake fluid flush.
    Dealerships: $560 to $645.
VW accredited service centres: $320 to $390

Having it done tomorrow at Prestige Auto Works!

    Have a guess.

I thought it was self explanatory.

I'm nearly due to service @138,000km so i'll report back, plus my extended warranty runs out in July, though at the moment I don't have anything I would claim on...(I type with other hand firmly planted on wooden table, lol)

I don't think we've noticed the fuel going up or down since the DPF recall/software was applied. Feels a little smoother off the line but that's about it.

Do you notice in manual mode how it doesn't want to change out of 1st gear? I push the stick up and it doesn't want to engage 2nd. but I'll do it again at the same revs next time and it will. Can't seem to find if it's a flat or hill etc that causes it but I can't see a pattern. It's just like it doesn't think it should change out of 1st so it won't let me. shrug...

Haven't noticed that. I'll try it.
Are you referring to, put the car in manual (1st gear), then keep the foot planted on the accelerator until it changes into 2nd gear by itself....yeah?

**EDIT** I just tried mine, and it changed from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd at approx 4800 rpm by itself, and, I can change up and down via the stick or the steering wheel paddles.
