The cured the brake squeal I had and that was the only thing I was concerned with over and above the service. They have taken photos of the sun blinds in the sliding door windows which have horizontal white marks on them at regular intervals. Said they would contact VW re this but admitted they had seen it on other vehicles the week before.

I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this?
Latest on the saga of the blinds is that after taking more photographs just before Christmas VW now want me to take the vehicle in to test that there are no leaks. Booked in for next Friday and I will continue to keep u updated. There seems to be a fair amount of procrastination here!

If the blinds were like it from the start, they should replace them under warranty -plain and simple. I can't imagine how a leak even if present ( and unlikely on both sides) would cause white stains or even wet the blinds when they are in up postion or down/recessed into the doors rolled up. The white stains do not wash out.

Picked up the vehicle today after the 'water test' requested by VW. As expected there were no leaks so they have ordered new blinds and the problem will be rectified under warranty. This might be worth noting for anybody else out there that has a similar problem because I now I wasn't the first and probably won't be the last.

Complained in the first instance when I took the vehicle in for its 12 month service on 8 October. Repair still hasn't happened but at least they have admitted it is a warranty issue and the replacement blinds are on order.

Still pretty poor it has taken them 3 months to get their act together , I will be booking our van in for it's first service this week and I will be making sure they have the warranty parts required in stock as I will not tolerate being stuffed around with one part that I know is faulty . I am afraid my past experiences with two Brisbane dealers has made me very bitter towards them to the point I will stand my ground and place some demands on them . They take your money so quickly on the day but fail to offer as quick a service when its time for them to be spending their time and money .

Our T5.2 is booked for the 14th Feb spoke with the service department about a couple of things under warranty , I let them know that the drivers seat belt "locks up" when you drive off sometimes you have to pull down real hard and then release before it will reel out and then it locks you into the seat when you try to lean forward to check traffic etc. I asked the service person if they would order the seatbelt in so it could be replaced on the same day , no such luck it seems if they find its faulty then I have to make a second trip to have it replaced . I explained that this would not be convenient as the van is needed to transport our disabled kids . So even though I explained to them that as I had spent over 20 years fitting and modifying seatbelts as I am an Authorised Officer with QLD transport . They still said the van had to be examined by one of their mechanics , so now I still have to make a special round trip of a 80 kilometres just so they can have a look before it goes in for service and then they will order it in for the 14th NOT HAPPY JAN . I also raised the question of the fuse cards not being in these vans , I am sure that car makers are just trying to make all of us owners around the world a bunch of obsolete clots . I was told that car makers DO NOT want customers replacing fuses on their own because it may damage the wiring . What next sealed tyre valves in case we over inflate our tyres , I just hate this sort of thing today I would like to think that in this day and age responsible people could be allowed to do simple maintenance own our own cars . I asked what would be the situation if a fuse blew for whatever reason way outback and the van was disabled miles from a dealership ? no answer . There are some other issues that I raised so it will be interesting on the day to see how good their "service is " Will update after the service is done with cost and outcomes .
