15000km/1 yr Service Multivan 103kw only covered 8,000km $368 Bryan Byrt VW Mansfield Brisbane. Did not take up any of the additional things they wanted to 'sell' me. The cured the brake squeal I had and that was the only thing I was concerned with over and above the service. They have taken photos of the sun blinds in the sliding door windows which have horizontal white marks on them at regular intervals. Said they would contact VW re this but admitted they had seen it on other vehicles the week before.

I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this?

Yes, mine also has "horizontal white marks" on blind. It is on driver's side sliding door blind. I could not come up with a better theory than maybe they were caused by spilling some cleaning solution or powder into the blind slot during detailing/cleaning.

Wardy, I can send you my photo of it, if it might help, otherwise please let us know what it turns out to be.

Thanks Tg-uan, I will wait to see what kind of response I get from VW and let you know. If they decide to be awkward about it a photograph somebody else with the same problem would be good.

I will let you know how it goes.

    It's expensive.

Work out what it needs, and get quotes.

I've rung Joe Hockey to see if he can loan me some funds from the Fed. Gov. borrowing limit increase he has put in place. Still waiting for the reply.

Don't forget to add the Governments (at all levels) of Poland, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, the United States and (almost certainly) the Peoples Republic of China to that list.

But don't pretend for one second that VW is in any way special in that regard...the car industry is up there with the energy industry (in all its forms) when it comes to 'subsidies'.

Back to the OT...(my 180K dealer service only cost me $1,200...and a week...hate to think how long it'd take them to do a T5 )

Yes you are right saw a report just the other day but then our car industry is doomed , Commodores and Falcon's less than ten years ago made up around 60% of cars sold now its 6% between both . It is a sorry state of affairs but we still are such a small population that economically it makes no sense any more to keep propping up something that is not going to recover sales . Lets face it both GM and Ford the majority of all the cars they sell are from another country so its their own fault .
