Here,s the answer to this "Quote" [It's just like it doesn't think it should change out of 1st so it won't let me. shrug... ] Its a gear box with a brain , the problem is that it is subject to whats known as "Brain Fade" its all part of the wonderful world of high tech we now are living with . The old days were so much simpler 3 speed autos that could be thrashed to death and they still changed when they were supposed to , if you wanted more speed just plant the foot and a mechanical device connected to the throttle body would change down a gear for you . Now days we wonderful electronics which think for you and they do what they have sometimes been preprogrammed to do so you are at the mercy of some engineers nightmare [and we all know ]that if you have a fairly current one that it needs to be reprimanded by a computer at your dealer to get the thing to do the right thing "Just Wonderful " Howard . Yes I still love our T5,s just not the technology !!!!!

Amarok with 8 speed pleeeease were will it end I would be happy with the old Holden Powerglide box that was a very simple 2 speed auto . At least the old Powerglide could handle a V8 without problems , and it was the favoured box for drag racers .
