gearbox oil DSG7

hi all
prob been covered before but search didnt show
i appreciate DCT oil in the DSG6 given wet clutches,but (why) do you need it in dry clutch box?
i cant see why i cant get a quality gear oil from supercheap

also am fitting different box,and this has 4motion takeoff (still a DSG7)
if i decide to keep 4motion,does the above oil (DCT)need to be used

was there a recall of VW DCT oil due to problems with mechatronic and high sulphur content

Hi Russ,

I'm pretty sure the 7 speed DSG in the Transporter is a DQ500 wet clutch transmission as distinct from the DQ200 dry clutch transmission used in Golfs, Polos etc. If I recall correctly, there was a recall of DQ200 dry clutch transmissions where the synthetic oil was replaced with mineral oil due to some sort of corrosion issue I believe. These two transmissions are chalk and cheese.

i just had a look under,and its stamped OBT so DQ500
ill be sure to use DCT oil

Just bought a 2012 multivan with 110,00km, the service book shows transmission was done at 60,000km, is 60 interval recommended and what oil best for DSG7speed

Can't go wrong with a euro brand like Ravenol, Liqui Moly, or Febi.

Correct.

Make sure you get a filter as well. It's different to the 6-speed, and may need to be ordered in.

What specific grade of oil and filter should be used in a ‘15 DSG7 bi turbo transporter? There’s little to no info on the net...

The engine, or the gearbox?

Engine takes 504/507-spec 5W30.

Gearbox takes approved DSG oil, equivelent to G052185A2.

Filters, avoid Ryco garbage. Use genuine VW, or OEM like Hengst, Mahle, or Mann.
