They are not worried about you and no one said they would stop IC production for where EV's are not practical. This is all about Europe and China, for instance and as an example we have bugger all electric buses but China has 325,000 of the things so where do you think production and research is going to be concentrated? Australia is a market that is hardly on the horizon or if it is a damned big pair of binoculars will be needed to see it. We will be driving IC vehicles in the bush for many years but in the metro areas they will become fairly common over the next five years once Hyundai and Kia have ramped up production on affordable production.

...and since there are not many EV’s in the showrooms yet, we even don’t know if market will accept them.
The EV is even older than vehicle with IC engine. Yeah, the EV was a sleeper for +100 years.
IMO, it will take more than 5years before they’re fairly common, even in Europe, let alone AU.

Yes, they’re. No doubt about that. But, 80% of us won’t have one.
    Are you still excited?

The EV is part of the third industrial revolution, it will take more than 10 years (before they’re common on our roads), more like one generation according to Jeremy Rifkin. I enjoyed watching this video even get excited until...
I started to think about it more and realised that it might be just an utopia and if not we might (will) run out of time to save the life and species on this planet.

Though this comparison of EV to ICE cars nailed it and if I’d be buying today it’s not brainer I cross the EV from the shopping list.

Sounds like the owners of horses when the car first started to arrive, it will never happen as there are not enough no petrol stations.
