    Fitting a poptop

Today we started to fit a poptop on to a friends van.
Jim spent the house keeping on a pop top and we had to fit it before the UK weather started to get wet!

Here are some pictures for your amusementI:

Nice clean shiny van to start with..

Then you have to remove the inside panels and cover any thing thats left..

After some marking out you have to make the first cut(big narnas needed at this point)

No going back now Jim(little jim watching her new bed room being made!)

Cut along the edges all the way round..

Suport at the corners(with washing prop)

Then remove the floppy part and line up the frame..

Time for a cup of tea i think..

Start to bolt the frame in(dont forget the stickaflex..

Mark out the front and bolt the frame in and cut out the waste..

The sides needed a little tinkering...

Heres jim using his home made measuring stick(notherners dont have tape measures)..

After 7 hours the roof goes on for a trial fit and marking for hinges..

    Hope you enjoy looking Rob

The kit...Roof ,Frame, canvas and all the nuts and bolts are £1500 or about AU$3000.

You have to buy about 3 tubes of stickaflex(black sticky stiff like winscreen bond)
    And some rivets.

After doing Jims I would do another its just a matter of reading the distructions!

I am seriously considering bringing a T5 one with me because no one will do just a roof out in OZ
