    First time with auto t4

    Exuse my ignorance please. I need to check auto trans fluid on friends t4, as 1st step towards understanding why he cannot engage forward gears and has very little reverse. Will someone explain where the filler/checker is? is there a dipstick? and any other helpful info. many thanks Thommo.

    I'm not sure they actually have one.

    Jets had one for awhile, I'm sure he'll throw some light on this.

    Only some transmissions have a dipstick, under the starter on the front of the box.

    Good luck, most T4 autos are rooted by now.

    Friend of mine had similar problem.

    Took it to VW and they told him it was the gear selectors.

    Hope this mite point you in a good direction.
