Factory tint Multivan

Looking at a new MY12 Multivan already optioned with factory tint. Does anyone have factory tint? Is it all windows or just the rear and is it as dark as an after market tint.

Normally it would be all windows except the windscreen , most factory tints are fairly conservative so you may find for best comfort an aftermarket tint will be better , you do need to be aware of the Vic Roads Authorities regulations and insurance requirements .

I ordered mine with privacy glass. It is slightly darker than the legal film you put on. It is only in the rear and I had legal film put on the front side windows. Could not find a film that matched as the privacy glass has a slight green tint to it.

You can only tell the front is different if you pay close attention or are in full sunlight.

I found an American Treg forum a long time ago and they had a film in the US that was a perfect match. The manufacturer did not sell it in Oz because it did not meet local legal requirements.

Which tint/company did you go with and was it because it was the best match or for other reasons.
Seems like factory tint option is a waste of money if you want the fronts tinted, or want UV protection(which the factory tint is not)

I had the front done by Local Adelaide company. I didn't choose it for any particular reason other than they were near by, did it while I waiited and was cheap ($120).

I figured the privacy glass would be better in the long run than film having 3 boys under 4yo. My Skoda had film all round and the rear windows were getting scratched from the wifes lack of care and the boys playing in the back.

Women are worse than kids. They have no clue about looking after a car. Thats another matter......

Just bought my wife a Caddy Maxi Life and it comes standard with rear privacy glass. Had the front tinted again as well.
