    Ever changed Coolant?

My 2012 Multivan has done 136K kms, and I do not think coolant was ever changed, was always serviced at the dealer according to the service book. I also could not spot a coolant change interval listed in the Service Book. Has oneone ever changed coolant in their Multivan, and was it due to a reason or interval? Thanks.

I did - when the radiator sprung a leak - and it was around 140K!

The coolant is a lifetime fill. But, I’d change it after 6 years or no later than in 8th year. If you had the timing belt and water pump replaced, then the coolant was most likely changed.

If it was discoloured from it's nice pale pink colour, it should be changed and discover the reason why.
As Transporter says, certain maintenance procedures require the draining of the coolant.
VW coolant is reasonably cheap anyway as it requires significant watering down, unless you are in a really cold area where freezing may take place.

Cold climate or not, you always have to dilute the coolant concentrate. If you go over 65% concentration, your coolant will boil bellow 100degC. I usually use 1:1 ratio or 50% concentrate. Never use less than 33% concentrate you will corrode your cooling system and as always don’t mix different types or brands of coolants. In emergency you can top up with H2O only.

A VW Badge would be better.
