Dual battery set up alternator question

    Hi,

I have 2013 Multivan and I'm looking at installing a CTEK 250s(DC to DC charger) to my current dual battery set up to be able to fully charge my leisure battery. I need to know if the alternator in my van is a variable charge and/or temp compensated alternator. This is important because if it is I will need to install a CTEK" smart alternator relay"

    Cheers

    FROM CTEK
"If your vehicle is a four wheel drive and was manufactured from mid 2011 on there is a good chance it is installed with a variable charge alternator also called a "eco charge" or "smart alternator".

Up till now this type of alternator did not function with the Ctek D250S Dual but now the good people at Ctek have come up with a way around this using a simply 30amp auto relay."

    Not in a 2013 model.

    It'll be the 2.0

Check on some of the UK based Transporter forums. I found a fair bit of useful info on them.

    Of course... My bad!
Either way fitting a relay is cheap and reliable
