    Drifta camping kitchens

    Hi all
I'm looking for a kitchen storage type setup for my kombi beach. I have found the drifta van back at drifta.com.au and noticed in the van back picture it appears to be in a kombi beach. Anyone out there used this setup before? (obviously someone with a Beach has!) With the new fella on the scene i'm trying to make our first camping trip as a family as comfortable as possible with a 9 week old. It looks as though all cutlery, cooking equipment like stove are stored inside. Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.

I haven't used this setup but I can vouch for the Drifta guys, they are awesome. I had a stand alone D200 camp kitchen suitable for a two burner and our coleman 2 burner stove was a little bit larger so it burnt the edges of the timber. I spoke with Drifta and they asked me to bring it back to the Brisbane camping caravan show and they swapped it for a D300 three burner size. No charge and ours was at least two years old.

    Brilliant design and very robust.

I just had a browse through the Drifta web site. They really do build them tough

Good to see a local firm making a go of it.

That's an interesting find, I own a kombi beach but cannot comment on the product as I have not used it.

We only have the two of us and have a fairly simple setup, consisting of two of the cheap butane stoves, and two backpacks, one for plates, cups and utensils, and the other for frying pan, saucpans and other tools. If there is a camp kitchen available we put one of these on each of our backs and head to it, otherwise we prepare and cook on the table, then move these things when we sit down to eat.

We prefer this flexibility and portability instead of the fixed drawers to hold items which have to be individually removed and carried to the camp kitchen. But there are times when at least a stove stand would be handy, but I think this device could be an overkill for us.
