Door Problems - Looking for Advice

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or can suggest a possible cause/remedy for a faulty sliding door. Our MY12 Highline Mulitvan has electronic sliding doors. The right (driver's side) door refuses to shut; repeatedly opening until it is held in place near the rear slide arm.

When I had it serviced the faults were shown on the report. The van is still under warranty so we had the caryard nominate a repairer who thought he had solved the issue by replacing a bent sliding arm. We were told the door had been operated several times - even demonstrated to us when we collected it - and all worked fine. When we came to use it the next day the same fault has re-appeared. The left side door operates with no issues.

Before I go back to the repairer, I just wanted to know what solutions I might be able to offer to them - other than me saying I will take it to a "proper" VW Repairer?

    Cheers

The rubber seal on the body of the van, nearest the pillar shared with the driver's door, has a contact strip in it.

Rub your hand up and down the strip, and re-test.

    Great work Umai!

Has anyone retrofitted electric sliding doors to one of these vans?

It's something that if I had my time again, I'd order from the factory. They're bloody heavy doors and if the van is on any sort of incline (like my driveway), they fly open at a million miles if the kids release them. Then the opposite happens when it's time to close them- they're too heavy for kids to shut!
