    Engine replacement.

What engines are a direct bolt on for a 2011 my 12 T5 multivan? It has a TDI400 in it at the moment but maybe has some major issues. Will an amarok TDI400 fit?

I would imagine the gearbox would be different plus mountings , others may be more knowledgeable on the subject so I would wait for a few more answers .

Block is probably the same, but the rest will be different.

Better to find one with the same engine code.

The manifolds are visibly different, but there could be some other differences as well.
Engine from Passat or Golf could be a closer fit.

Not sure what engine but here is one being wrecked , looks like a burnt out one but other than the bolt on stuff on the engine I would imagine the block itself and box would be fine , a Multivan by the look of the windows and seats so the engine should be a top spec at least https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bank...ing/1140496020

I suppose it would depend on where the fire started the heat may have only been in the engine bay long enough to melt the plastic parts I would imagine the main block would be ok who knows .

I've got my eye on a few engines, but upwards of 6k for a low mileage but 90day warranty to 8k for 12month warranty

Might be worth pricing up an exchange long motor through VW.

Price would be similar, and virtually brand new.
