Don,t read this if you are a VW transporter fan !

Search that site for reviews on any brand, and you are going to find just as high (if not higher) percentage of disgruntled owners.
Many disgruntled owners use the internet to vent their anger. Not as many happy owners use the internet to express their joy.

Did you put a post on that site?

x2 those sites are targeted by disgruntled owners - remember VW sell an average of 300K T-series vehicles yearly so that site represent a small percentage.

Yes I do agree and also the fact that there are billions of people all over Europe etc so even a small percentage would seem a lot compared to us here . But non the less there were some instances of repeated problems so you would think VW would take some notice . Howard

Repeated problems???? What are they? ....and how many people are affected? less than 10, less than 100, less than 1000?
Is it a problem with the vans, or is it a problem with dealerships not being able to diagnose and repair a problem?

Yes I think you have hit the nail right on the head, dealers we have all had our dealings with them and lets face it some of them are really the pits when it comes to service etc . Now I will acknowledge that some complaints are frivilous but even here on this forum there are numerous instances where the same problem has occured repeatedly the cracked manifold on T5 ,s spring to mind and lets face it not every one is a member of this Forum so how many have had this problem and we don,t hear about them . They probably go off blind to a dealer and they just say "oh thats the way it is " . Also the water pump in the early T5,s ours failed at only about 60,000 kays , now I don,t know about everyone else but after forking out over $55,000 for a vehicle which at the time was just two seats and and nothing much else that sort of thing is a bit hard to swallow , and remember this was not covered by warranty , and there are many whose pumps failed much sooner , even our factory fitted radio failed after 3 months I didn,t even bother with VW as far as I was concerned a Blaupunkt radio made in China fitted to a $55,000 van was an insult . As some of you would have read in earlier threads my ongoing concerns with "Sealed for Life" transmissions , I spent last night reading through our owners handbook and service booklet and what fascinated me is that VW service everything in the van even replacing brake fluid at 2 year intervals but there is not one single word about the all important auto box . If it is not included in the service routine then one would have to conclude that it should not give a problem , I still love our vans and we do own 3 of them but even the best manufacturers can have faults . exactly, my 19 y/o son just sold his t4 so he can buy a t5, typically because thery're the best looking van around, and our whole family are softies for veedubs. i started researching t5's and warned him about what i read, he didn't care, stating your point. i own a d40 navara, and yes it has some faults, but i love it, yet if you read all the negative publicity(mainly on complaints corner), they wouldn't sell 1! there wouldn't be one brand of car that didn't have a ****ty customer.
