Diagnostics software - what to use

I have a 2002 transporter TDI 300.
What conputer software can I buy to do diagnositics with?

An recommendations would be great

I bought mine $99US around 6 years ago. It was/is called VAG-COM 409
You need a 16 pin lead to USB from Ebay[Hong Kong supplier] Can't remember but very cheap.
A laptop that still works. Mine is old & is installed with windows98 & works fine.
Once you have bought your program from Ross Tech, install in a computer that has some life left in it.
It's hard to move to another computer & you may have to pay another $99. They may allow one swap.
