current multivan or new facelift model

my dilema is, do i get a secondhand multivan highline, do i get a new current model multivan comfortline, or do i wait until the first qtr next year to get the new model?
the thing is that the new one is only going to be coming out in a 103kw version but with a 7spd dsg & new bits & bobs
opinions & advice would be greatly appreciated
    thanks in advance

I would be very surprised if they wouldn't bring 132kW in Australia. Maybe VW has to many current T5 in stock and wants to get rid of them first. I would wait for 132kW or buy current T5 128kW.

apparently there are not many t5 multivans left in stock as i have been checking availabilty with dealers & the fact that i wanted a 4 motion one & they would'nt accept the order for one at the factory & that there are no 4 motion ones coming out here in the current model on the last shipments
they are doing the 132kw version but apparently only in the highline so comfortline 103kw & no 4 motion on this model only the highline.

I really don't understand why VW restricts some options to only certain models on factory orders in some markets. If a particular option is available on any model then they have to stock spares and maintain support for it in that country, and the van is pre-sold anyway.

If I was deciding these things I would let anyone buy any combination of models (and colours) that the factory can make if the customer was willing to stump up the money to order a custom build from the factory. Mind you if they ordered something really weird then refused to take delivery I would be inclined to enforce the contract.

The poms on the Brickyard forum are always whingeing about not being able to buy 174s with 4motion like are available in other markets.

Is it VW Germany that imposes the restrictions or VW Australia that lists the specs they want?

    Itchy feet,
If you can negotiate a very good discount on the current new T5 I'd consider that. Until VW Australia releases the new T5 pricing it will be hard to determine what is a good buy compared to the new models. Bear in mind European pricing has ben maintained at the same level and already VW Australia has mentioned to the local press that we will be given a price rise which is a very bitter pill to swallow considering our currency isn't devaluing.

Sorry, I have no idea (and considerable skepticism that VWA will give an honest answer to that question, based on responses I've had from them in the past).
