Hi i have a 2005 multivan executive 2.5 diesel cruise control does not work, head beam lights are stuck on in both beams positions of the switch i get both head lights on and the high beam indicator. also i have noticed since i disconnected the battery and re hooked it back up. i cant set the clock on the dash. when you push the button in on the dash like they say it does nothing. any help would be great. i have had no luck in the past with the dealership here. and i dont have the time to take it to Melbourne. i am a motor mechanic myself. but a old one that is not used to all the electronics. i feel it will end up to be the stalk as the 2 problems are on the same stalk. but im not sure what's going on with the clock. and im not sure how to get the airbag off so i can get the steering wheel off to replace the multi function switch

To remove the air bag turn the wheel 90 degrees there is a hole in the back which you insert the tip of a small screw driver to release the spring loaded catch then rotate 180 degrees to get to the other one . Make sure the battery is disconnected for safety and support the airbag when you release the catches as it may fall down . You can buy the VW factory cruise control complete with both stalks wiring etc from the UK for less than $300 Here is the company I got a kit from for both our vans and a friends T5.1 as well .
