Walkthrough between two seats was on my list of wants when I was shopping for my '98 T4 (and that's what I got - although I was also looking for a short wheelbase with a petrol engine on LPG and I ended up with a long wheelbase on diesel...). I wanted to be able to get to a camp site late in the day and just slip through into the back and into bed!

Funny how many people got vans with the 3 seats and converted to 2 while others who got 2 seats want 3. I can understand the desire for 3 seat utility if you don't have back seats but I find you really can't beat the convenience of being able to walk through.

Take away the marine carpet and the cargo net, and the white van in the pic appears standard to me (as in standard with three seats up front) but I'm not sure if the wall liner panels are an option or not. Mine has them but does anyone know if they are an 'extra'?

Oh sell it to me or point me in the direction of one!
I was all for the 2 seater I love being able to "walk through" but with the camper set up in the back and the need to cart a small child around only leaves me one option.
Btw mine has the same wall panelling.

Costs $27 and 'pay before ordering' when quoted by email and $21.50 and 'aw, just pay for it when it comes in' when you go into the spares department and order it. Go fig.

Is this common with VW parts? Do you always go into the service centre?

I wouldn't know where else to go - I've only had the T4 since late last year and most of the wreckers on the Gold Coast are disappearing at a rate of knots because of a combination of the council making it harder on them and the land being worth too much. Oh for the old days when you could wander round a wrecking yard all afternoon...
