Colour Coded Bumpers Midnight Blue metallic

    G'day,
Apologies if this has been discussed before but tried the search and no luck, also I am new to all this stuff.
About to purchase a Demo T5 MY11 Van, would love to have colour coded bumpers, should I ask the dealer to do it or another route and what can I expect to pay?

What other upgrades would be a priority, ie. not too expensive but make a difference. Stereo?

    Thanks

For the life of my I can't remember with T5GP's but for the earlier model T5's the standard grey/black bumpers have a grained texture and when you optioned factory colour coded bumpers they fitted smooth finish bumpers before painting. A good panel shop probably would be cheaper so maybe compare between dealer and shop for price. It was a $1050 factory option in 2007. If I was ordering today the minimum would be satnav/rear camera, multi-function steering wheel, trip computer, colour coded bumpers and maybe alloys.

Thanks for the info. Going for the bumpers, but getting wacked for 1700 bucks. Will slowly work on the other areas and also campering it! Came with Alloys and comfort seats.

Did you buy the SWB demo from Bill Buckle mate? Looked at it myself but am hanging out for a LWB to be honest. Seemed like a good deal if this is the one I am referring too.

    Cheers

Looking at the option list from my dealer for MY12 vans Option 2JG "Body-Coloured Bumper" is $1090 inc GST. Now this is quoting factory supplied so I guess is paying $700 more reasonable to have it done locally.

Sounds like you are paying for new bumpers......Make sure you get the old ones. You can keep them, or re sell them to re-coup some of your costs.

Interesting stuff, I will check with the dealer. They explained that it costs that amount because of the prepping, they have to sand off the surface then apply paint. I will definitely check cost to supply new.

Griff, Yes, seemed like a good deal to me, checked with a few people in the business and they said it was good. The dealer was a shark of course, claimed it was a 47k vehicle, I resisted the urge to point out that it would be pure stupidity for them to sell a vehicle under it's market value! In reality I reckon' it's a few k cheaper than it could be.

Another question chaps, will be parking on the street and could do with a auto folding side mirrors, expensive option or should I just flip it manually when I park?

Just called VW. Apparently my van can not take the colour coded bumpers, different fitting to the Caravelle etc, so will have to get mine prepped and sprayed.
    Any thoughts anyone?
