I beleive the only difference is that the T6 euro 5 models have the suffix D part fitted.
what year is your T6 and how many km.
have you had an oil test done?
Hi,
I’m hoping some knowledgeable folks amongst you can provide a definitive answer for me...........
Are the CFCA engines fitted to early T6 vehicles any different to those fitted to a T5.1?
Unfortunately I need to replace our engine because of the usual oil use problems with these engines.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Andy.

Correct, my bus is a T5.1 purchased 6 weeks or so ago without knowledge of the oil use problems I have approached VW about the oil test but we’re the 5th owner and it has done 209,000 kms so I’m not sure it is worth the cost and effort of going down that avenue....... It used 4 litre between Adelaide and Manjimup and needed another 2 litres when we got home.
Sad isn,t it that a modern built engine would use so 4 litres oil in only 2900 km plus the other 2 litres to top it up again, my old petrol T5 has over 340000km and would be lucky to use 1 litre every 1000km . VW should do something ex warranty on those affected , as the cost of rebuilding a diesel engine is bloody expensive up around $10K plus from what has been told before .
I have a 5.1............or at least I think it is and it doesn't use any oil after 460K?

Surely can't be just 'luck of the draw'?
I wonder if it's got something to do with how they are driven over the first couple of thousand km's when new? When mine was a few weeks old I went out on a few occasions deliberately exposing the engine to some higher rpm's, but in a gentle way. Firstly letting it rev at about 2500 for a little while, next outing up to 3000 for a little while, then 3500, then 4000. I don't think it's good for a brand new engine to hardly ever go over 1800 - 2000 rpm which is what the DSG is trying to do...

Oh, that's right.
CFCA is the dual turbo.
Mine is CAAC - single turbo.
I think the dual turbo is too much for this little engine.

Something I have been on about over on some other car Forums , all these ute models with supposed high towing capacity relying on Turboes to deliver the pulling power , its is ridiculous to think a small capacity engine can maintain good strength when being force fed . Why do you think all those big American Utes still run V8,s or V6 ,s
