Make sure you get a letter form the carwash stating that the door was fine before you sent it in.
Try to get them to pay for the repairs if they broke it.
Took the T5 to the car wash the other day and was wondering why they were taking so long to do the final wash.
The manager called me over, and proceeded to show me that the cable used to pull the door back (we have the Highline with powered doors) had come off the door, and was hanging out. Consequently the door does now not open.
Am so p*ssed off with this. The dealer can't see the car for three weeks, and I have lots of work ferrying the family around in this time.
I've never seen or heard of this happening before, and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how it would happen - also maybe how it's possible to fix.

What about Germanauto Rod?
Look for anything broken under the van. The van has very good plastic shields under the carriage, so unless you already had plastic cover broken, I don't believe that the car wash can pull them out. It's either they broken it when drove over something in their car wash or someone who was repairing your electric door or something in that area didn't put everything back together as it should be and left the cable exposed!

That's unfortunate! Beware coz car washes have policies that say by using their car wash u agree they are not liable to any damage done to your car by them inc theft.
There's a cable that runs from the back that joins to the door to pull it back - we have the powered doors. It seems to be attached to a pulley arrangement.
Sorry - picture taken at night on my mobile. It's a bit dark.

Yes - hopefully can - just need someone who knows what they are doing. Unfortunately, am driving the van to Melbourne on Tuesday, and don't think I will have any time to get anything done on Monday.
