Why would he have to got 16s for tough tyres Plenty of 4X4 tyres come in 17's and are certainly tough enough for a 3200kg Cruiser

Hi Sunny43.5 I bet your gearing & speedo were out unless you had fitted the Seikel lower ratio-box (manual), only low profiles on 17" have a similar dia,to 16" on normal profile tyres.

This was back in 06 and there was not the variety in 17" available then. (Sorry for the typo in my 1st thread-NOT '7' should have been '&' (both on the same key).

No I did not change any thing it was just that the wheels came with near new tyres and it seemed a shame not to get my monies worth out of them but as I said the lousy ride made me fit correct size tyres fairly quickly and yes the speedo was out but the GPS kept me legal .

You shout have no issues if you maintain the same rolling diameter. An extra inch of wheel means 1/2 inch less side wall and a firmer ride.

Half an inch is so small amount of difference I doubt anyone could tell the difference even a few PSI differences in tyre pressure would make things different so the point is not valid
