Ok, once this breaks there is no way you can get around fixing it properly unless you guy a whole new inner door again (the complete new metal sheet with all the motor and cables on it).
Cost me $590.

Hi guys,
I'm a bit stuck. I went to wind the drivers window down and heard a clunk and the window dropped to half way and is stuck there now...... S**T.
I took off the door trim but i can't see anything due to the sheet metal panel in the way... i'm good with tools and fixing things but are non professionals able to play with this stuff?
I had the passenger electric window fixed this time last year and it seems to be the same problem (that cost me $650 to be repaired and don't want to be hit with that bill again if i can fix it myself).
Any help is much appreciated guys,
Cheers

Woah, that is pretty extreme. What's the actual part that failed in your cases?
