Bringing a van to Aus and getting it ok'd
Looking at the prices over here (UK) and the prices in Australia it seems fave that we will buy and bring a van with us. (thinking LWB T5 2.5 with pop-top and R&R bed)
What I was hoping for is hearing what people can advise regards shipping (who with, whats what, what to avoid etc) and also whats involved nd how much is it going to cost to get it out on the road.
So far I have heard :
the van has to be SPOTLESS
a 40ft container costs £5000 UK - Aus (not bad if we can find another famillly to go halves with).
Dont have anything in there thats dangerous or made of pretty much any organic material

If you have a look at this link it should give you some info of a good way of getting a van over here...

I wish i had brought mine over as its hard to get what i want over here.
Some things i have read say you have to own it for a year before bringing it out for tax reasons but not to sure so dont quote me.
Someone on here bought a second hand container then sold it once here!
Not to sure on the ins and outs but something worth looking into.
Make sure the rear seats meet OZ rules and get something known like Reimo etc.
It would help people if you say which state you are going to live in, Was it Victoria?
All the best Rob

Cheers Rob,
Yep, its Victoria, I easily forget the laws change from state to state.
Will look into the link you gave me.
I saw a T5 at a meet we went to last weekend - stunning and not o blingy (some are getting a bit ott for my personal taste over here).
It'll defo have a pop top and be LWB - might bring two
