    Too much money to burn on what will never be a true off roader, and if you do it then the reduced gearing and the final speed and noise from the engine at the highway speeds will drive you mad. Well, IMO anyway.

    Too true Transporter. I am taking delivery of my new T5 4Motion on Thursday and by the time the pop-top, windows, the rear seat, fridge and a host of other things go in I think I may be at my limit. Although I would like a lift kit and engine skid plate so I can at least go down a gravel road with a high centre without any problems.

    Dan, that price you were quoted does sound incredibly good as when you add up the costs on the Seikel web-site it comes to 3117 Euros for them to supply and fit.

    I have read on the German T5 site that anyone who has fitted the gears is more than happy with them and say it was money well spent, even though they balked at the price to start with. Well, that is if the Google Translation is correct.

    Hi Bruce,

    Yeah there is only a 10% shortening on gears 3-6, 18% on gears 1-2. I drive like a granny most of the time anyway, so I'm not too concerned about highway speeds.

    Trakka only had good reports on the gear ratio change.

    Re cost, I'd imagine as a distributor Wolf4x4 might get a bit or a lot of a discount on the retail price. I know that is how it works in my industry (sometimes ~60%).

    Price dependant I'm interested.
    Might need to do a few calcs and read the seikel website again.

    I just got a quote from Trakka for the final drive kit, $9K supply only.
    Also $4K for seikel lift kit supply only.

    I hope you guys get this possibility of a group buy underway. I'm getting keener by the day!

    Interesting Trakka quoted me $3750 but I was sure that included fitting. Maybe not.....

    Actually I lied. it was $3K for supply only from Trakka. My Mistake.
    I think I know where my Tax return is going!!!
