Baffled (my head, not the exhaust)

Only on long journeys, the clutch will push down and come back up 5cm. I put my toe under it it release all the way up. This has happened three times on 200km journeys . I had the clutch master cylinder replaced and the problem reoccured next long trip. Trips less than50 km are usual for me and the problem doesn't happen. so its hard to demonstrate to the mechanic. Any clues ? HELLLP

If the master cylinder is new, and has been bled correctly, then perhaps the issue lies with the slave cylinder? Not uncommon for these to crap out. The SC is in the bellhousing on these, so the gearbox needs to come out. However, it's a good time to seriously consider doing a clutch while it's all apart.

I am not sure but in the T4 models there were issues with the pedal mounting box , I have seen a couple where they had to reinforce or reweld them maybe not your problem but also worth checking , that's if its a T4 it can cause fluid loss as the pedal gets out of correct alignment and it will leak onto the floor .
