    Aux In RCD210 2010 Transporter

    Hey all

Been trying to do a bit of research on installing an AUX for the factory radio fit in my 2010 T5 transporter.
It has Radio and Cd as only options.

So far the only options are:

    1. Fit a new radio, newer version.

    2. Get the software to unlock the AUX option, and then purchase an adaptor.

    3. Not bother with the software change, and purchase one of these:
    Aux In Adapter for VW RNA RCD 200 210 300 310 500 510 MFD2 Satnav Radio iPhone 6 | eBay

Has anyone had any experience with this?
I would prefer to limit my spending hence the option, did not want to spend close to 1000 on a decent alternative.

    Cheers
    Mike

What sort of input are you wanting to put through the original unit , I have one of these units that I use for connecting a LED Projector to the head unit when we are camping no wiring all done wirelessly . It will allow Bluetooth connection for mobile phone music streaming and phone calls and additional USB inputs . Scosche Bluetooth FM Transmitter with USB Port | JB Hi-Fi . There are others on Ebay that will do the same , I bought this one in a hurry as we were going away and I could not bother waiting for one from Ebay which would have been cheaper like these ones .Bluetooth Wireless MP3 Player FM Transmitters | eBay

    Hey Sunny

Yeh mate I have thought about getting one of those however I have heard that the connection can be a bit rough and the sound quality not the best at time. Whats your experience on that front?
Also use the Cig lighter as a phone charger most of the time and would complicate that.

The JB one was more expensive as the quality was top notch , we go Moto Cross riding and we have a portable LED projector which we set up next to our trailer which is where we mount the screen . I plug the FM modulator into the front cig lighter and it receives the bluetooth sound and then resends the sound via FM from the LED projector so we get full on bass and sound via the vans headunit . The FM signal is strong enough that it swamps frequencies either side of the set one so you don,t get any other stations coming in , also you can change the FM frequency so you can pick a blank frequency across the FM band . I can obviously use the Bluetooth directly from the LED unit to the vans head unit but the FM Modulator can also be used to send the signal to a portable FM stereo radio etc. I know what you mean by the phone charger and you may have read that I hard wired my charger directly to the fuse box so the cig lighter can be used for other stuff without interupting charging . Belive me when we go camping recharging points are a premium , lets see 3 phones 3 Go Pro cameras Bluetooth speaker portable LED projector and then the obligratory camp lighting . Here you go a typical night under the stars with some friends and our video set up .Howard Thrift - Friday night under the stars watching...

    Thanks Sunny
    I'll take a look.
Sounds like you have an awesome setup.

Also having a look at dual battery for my setup and a fridge.
What do you run for yours?
Was having a chat with battery people and they weren't sure if 2010 T5's ran the smart alternator or not which would affect what i purchase
    cheers

No we only have one battery , but it is much bigger in amp hours than the stock one so it handles the charging and music good . We use eskies for food drinks etc as the MX park has ice supplies if we run low , better still is in winter out there the temps overnight can drop to below 5c or the worse -3.5 , one weekend it was so cold one morning all our outside water in containers and on our trailer had frozen and I had to use bottled water from the esky to boil to make a cup of coffee !!
