Auto locking doors on takeoff (Caravelle)

I have just pick up a 09 Caravelle & want to turn off the auto door locking feature but can't find anything about it in the controls & equipment manual, I did a search here but only found info for the Golf which has a larger Multi Function Display.

    Can anybody assist?

You will have to most likely find someone with VCDS (vag-com) or visit the dealer to do it.

    Correct.

Have done it, but not without the customer getting the OK from VW and their insurance company.

The only reason I can think of that you would want to disable that function is concern about rescuers being locked out in the event of an accident. I'd think though, that it would have been designed to de-activate in that instance. Does any-one know if this is the case?

Yep, in the accident the doors are automatically unlocked .

Ah! Thanks transporter. That eases my mind about something I didn't know I was worried about till today.

I'm not too concerned about the locked in thing, if you pull the door lever a second time it opens. Brian the reason that you can't think why I might want something that you don't is that I'm not like you it's just a personal preference.
I have just sold a 06 Transporter so the Caravelle still feels very familiar which makes old habits harder to drop, I have a lot of new luxurious features to get use to, most that I love but this one is just taking a bit longer.
