Anyone running 19inch rims on a transporter/multivan

Hi looking at putting a set of amarok 19rims with 245/45/19 tyres.
Looking to see anyone else here in Australia has done it.
Reason for amarok rims(load rated and straight bolt on).
Have researched and can run that size legally and the speedo will read correctly😃
Running standard suspension for now. Maybe a 40mm down the track.
Any advice would be great.

A with any change of wheel size the tyre height is my main concern , if it has lo profile tyres they will give quite a harsh ride . I tried this with some wheels a few years back and after a month or so changed the tyres to a more suitable profile and saved thousands of dollars .

A friend of mine has a set of 19 inch rims fitted and whilst he likes the look he acknowledges the ride is harsher and in hindsight he would have been better stick with 17 inch or at a max of 18 inch wheels.
I went for drive with him and the ride is not so bad that I would be overlly worried but that was a drive around suburban Sydney.
Country roads are where he notices the harshness the most.

I put alloys on my T6 transporter but stick the factory size of 17inch.

Running landrover discovery 19"s on a 2006 T5 with HD Eibach 40mm lower springs..
Fairly firm but highway handling is much better

Sunny. Considered the point of side wall flex in relation to ride comfort and could have opted for larger side walls but would make the van unroadworthy.
Sunny and snowmotion. Decided against the run flat tyres tyres(no side wall flex) which will add to the harsh ride.
This is being installed on a multivan that has losted it's very heavy rear bench seat. At it's heaviest(me a dirt bike and the two captains chairs) it would be close to factory weight.

Main reason for the upsizing is would like a bigger contact patch with the road and sports tyres not light truck

You don't need 19 inch rims to get sport tyres so to speak here is what we are running and yes we carry bikes as well as our two disabled kids . The van has got a Bilstein lowering coil over kit on board it is marginally stiffer than the standard but it corners and handles exceptionally in its current set up . Mind you the first lowering kit FK Suspensions was a bas%$#td ended up tossing it on the tip !!I built and kitted the van from stock to what you can see here Page 1 New T5 Project

Yes, I've got Amarok Aragonit on mine with 245/45/19. Couldn't be happier. Tyre noise is less, this is down to the quality/type of the tyre versus the standard 16 alloys with commercial style tyres. It looks great.

I run 19's on mine and never had an issue with ride.

Went ahead with a h&r 40mm drop
Then fitted michelin primacy st 245/45/19 on a set of amarok repainted rims.
Could not be happier ride is not the wallowy firm but not ridiculous harsh.
