Can you tell us the build year?

It might be worth trying to get a quote of one of the many sites on the web as to get an idea of market value.

If its any use the quoted value for my 2006 is $30,000.

Dont forget to try and find out where it goes if they take it off you.

Many people on here will want some bits off it...

Hope the occupants are all OK.

    Its a 2008 TDI

I had a poke around and it seem values from $34 to $40K.

it would be good to see how they peg the value, as the old girl only had 42K on the clock

Wife Kids and Dog are all ok, it was a tow job gone to local panel shop

So with market value there is a little known demand that you can make.

Rather than agreeing for X$ you can ask for an equivalent vehicle, so, if you cannot buy the same vehicle for the money that they have offered you then simply you are not getting market value.

My Crewvan was written off by Allianz earlier this year. Like any insurance company they will do their best to screw you over.

Is the Multivan a private car or a company car?

Is there finance owing on the van?

Allianz wrote my Jetta off a year ago from hail, and my experience with them is that they are quick to write off.

Did not insure my replacment Accord Euro with them...

The only experience I have had is many years ago when my daughter hit a tree with her Laser. At the time similar cars at dealers were around $7000. Insurance co offered $3500. I finally got them up to $4500. They had already sent the car to the auction. I bought the car from the insurance co [outside the auction process] & repaired it. All up including buying it back it cost $4500 & she was on her way again.
All my cars are now insured for agreed value because of this previous experience.
