There is a valve, that is cable operated, that opens and closes the hot water to the heating system. It is common for these to fail, and remain open all the time. Easy to replace....have had to do it on all the T4's I have owned.
    Just buy a new valve.

Does the air con on a t4 only blow through the central vents?

If this is the case both driver and passenger vents need to be closed.

Maybe (probably) I am wrong and it was just the UK van I had that did this.

Rob is 100% correct. If heater tap is swiched off, warmer outside air will come out of outside vents
if they are not turned off while the colder air comes out of the centre vents.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

The problems I referred to, was HOT air continuously coming out the side vents.....even on a cold day.....as if the heater is on full blast.

Now I might be wrong here but I was told 10 years ago to block off the the air intake that points down to the engine when the bonnet is closed , when you open the bonnet you will see a plastic housing which picks up air from outside and from the engine bay , if you block this one it will solve the heat issue , I have done this again on my sons T4 and it works .

    I have the same issue
Cold air from middle vents but warm air from the far left and right vents now if i turn on the ac the far left and right start blowing cold air but just doesn't feel right ill try and block off that vent inside the engine bay see if that works....

Sorry to hijack but, Does anyone know why my ac stops working when i idle then kicks in when i take off, i have been told its the idler...any info much appreciated.
